Symptoms

Sufferers tend to report the same things, in roughly the same order.

The early signs

  • Stopping for every low, long dog on the street, regardless of schedule.
  • Referring to ordinary legs as "short" and ordinary walks as "waddles."
  • Saying sploot in conversation and expecting to be understood.

The settled condition

  • Knowing where the neighborhood corgis live, by name, without having been told.
  • Crouching to dog height for photographs as a matter of principle.
  • Feeling briefly, unreasonably cheered by the sight of a loaf-shaped animal.

A note

This is lore, not diagnosis. Corgi Fever is fictional. If a real dog needs care, ask a real veterinarian — this site knows nothing about joints, coats, or diets, and makes no claims about them.
